The field of cardiology is a challenging, high-demand career field where technicians have the opportunity to work with patients and medical teams to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions. EKG Technicians play a key role in collecting the diagnostic information that physicians depend on to provide patients with the correct treatment plans. The EKG Technician program at Carolina School of Phlebotomy was developed by a physician to ensure the highest quality information. Our program stands above the rest because of it's attention to the knowledge behind the science of the heart in addition to the technical expertise of performing diagnostics.
EKG Technician Program Admissions Requirements:
- Copy of high school transcripts or college transcripts (copy of diploma cannot be accepted)
- Copy of GED transcripts (copy of GED certificate cannot be accepted)
- Signed, notarized attestation of graduation from a high school or receipt of a certificate of equivalency

The 6-Week EKG technician program consists of the three following parts:

The following is the break-down for tuition and fees for the EKG Technician course.
- Registration Fee: $50
- Tuition: $500
- Laboratory Fee: $150
- Books and Supplies: $100
The Carolina School of Phlebotomy is an approved EKG certificate program through the North Carolina Department of Higher Education. Students who have successfully completed the EKG Program will be given the option to sit for an accredited national examination through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) to become a Certified EKG Technician (CET). This is optional and employment is not contingent upon successful completion; although it may make an individual more competitive in the job market.
